Music Director
Dr. Ronald Abraham is a retired Professor of Music from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. At SIUE he taught undergraduate and graduate courses in Voice, Opera and Choral Conducting as well as serving as chair of the department for ten years. Dr. Abraham holds the Bachelor of Music Education and Master of Music degrees from the University of Wisconsin and the Doctor of Musical Arts degree from the University of Illinois.
As a soloist he has appeared in opera with the Florentine Opera, Skylight Comic Opera, Chicago Opera Theater and the Opera Theater of St. Louis. Oratorio appearances include solo appearances with the Masterworks Chorale, St. Louis Bach Society. Milwaukee Symphony and St. Louis Symphony. He has studied choral conducting under Don Moses, Robert Shaw, Robert Decormier and sung with the Atlanta Chamber Chorus, St. Louis Chamber Chorus and the Dale Warland Singers.
As a paid music director, Ron has supervisory control over the chorus and the accompanist. He conducts weekly rehearsals and directs all public performances. Along with the board of directors, he is responsible for planning each concert season including selecting the theme and music. In addition, he is a non-voting member of the board of directors.
