May 30, 2009 The Upper Alton Christian Ringers Handbell Choir (which has performed with the GRCS at the Christmas Concert for several years) and the Sanctuary Choir of College Avenue Presbyterian Church will present a concert Saturday, May 30, 7PM, at the College Ave Church in Upper Alton (2726 College Avenue). Featured guests will be a Guitar Ensemble from Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Alton. (this group has performed for the annual Epiphany Concerts for several years. The performance they gave this past January was stunning, and their appearance on the program will be a highlight of the evening).

Also performing will be a string quartet, soprano soloist Jean Heil, and an octet from the Sanctuary Choir.

Preceeding the concert will be an Ice Cream Social, 5-6:30pm. which will include a raffle of items donated by members of both choirs. The raffle drawing will be held after the program intermission. Admission for both events is free. There will be donations accepted at the Social and a Freewill offering will be accepted following the concert. Proceeds will be used for Handbell Choir equipment.
